CRH Medical made an intensive effort in March to raise its profile with prospective customers and shareholders.
Raising awareness with the GI community
We received notification mid month that the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) accepted our video titled “Office-Based, Non-Endoscopic Treatments for Hemorrhoids”. The organization’s acceptance of the educational video, which demonstrates non-surgical hemorrhoid techniques, is a significant step forward to ensure that all GIs across the U.S. are familiar with these procedures, which include our band ligation.
The video will be added to the ASGE Endoscopic Learning Library (http://www.asge.org/ell_list.aspx) and available for purchase by physicians in a DVD format. The official video release will be at Digestive Disease Week in April and featured throughout the show.
The ASGE’s acceptance is something we have been working towards for the past two years, which is indicative of the organization’s rigorous screening process before they designate something as `accepted’. As part of their process, the ASGE screens all educational material and is peer-reviewed by a committee. The ASGE is a national, professional organization, active in education and advocacy issues pertaining to the practice of gastrointestinal endoscopy.
Towards the middle of the month, Company representatives attended the GI Roundtable in Boston, which was an opportunity for CRH to build awareness about the O’Regan System and the Company with GIs in the region and across the country.
The conference was hosted by a couple of leading gastroenterologists in the U.S. including one of CRH’s board members, Dr. Gene Overholt.
Earlier in March, CRH representatives attended the American College of Gastroenterology regional meeting in Captiva, Florida. The meeting allowed one of CRH’s clinical specialists to interact with GIs in his region and bring attention to the O’Regan System and the Company.
Bay Street marketing
About two weeks ago, CRH management spent two days marketing the story to the financial community in Toronto. We met with 11 brokers who look at micro cap companies, three sell-side analysts, a hedge fund, and a couple institutional sales people.
The majority of the meetings were one-on-one interactions, during which we had the opportunity to communicate CRH’s value proposition as a prospective investment. The feedback we got was roundly similar, and positive: we like the story, keep growing the business and we’ll like the Company even more.
Looking ahead to April
We intend to issue our first quarter, 2013 results on April 23. We’ll also host a conference call after the first quarter press release is disseminated. We can’t comment on the first quarter results until they are fully disclosed to the broader market, however we remain optimistic about our opportunity to continue to grow the Company over the long term.
