Clinical Support Specialist

A Clinical Support Specialist is responsible for working directly with gastroenterologists to reinforce the training provided by one of the Medical Directors. While the role is primarily clinical, it also involves working with both the physicians and staff to ensure a smooth transition of a new procedure into the practice. The candidate will be required to spend the majority of the time travelling to various practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training sessions directly with physicians on live patients at their practice
  • In most cases, these patients will be undergoing their 2nd of 3 treatments (the first will have been done with one of the Medical Directors present)
  • Understand and be able to effectively communicate clinical, operational and financial components of a medical procedure
  • Communicate ancillary services that we provide to ensure practices fully understand our offering
  • Identify future opportunities at practices for account managers to follow up on
  • Identify any need for further training with select physicians
  • Visit prospects and existing practices when logistics don’t allow for a training session with patients to be set up

Skills & Experience

  • Clinical background (RN, or other clinical background)
  • Experience providing medical training to physicians
  • Ability to thoroughly understand and communicate a procedure/product
  • Proven success record as a medical sales representative an asset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Confident nature
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and friendly nature
  • Experience in a role with significant travel – 80% travel.
